re. oestrogen, can you have progesterone? I stopped having periods when I had a Mirena IUS and it's progesterone-only.

i've done some limited research on it and it doesn't look like progesterone feminizes? but an internal device is pretty much out of the question for me for various reasons.

Depo-Provera is also progesterone-only and I have heard people say it reduces menstrual flow. You might want to give it a try.

Just echoing the comment above me about depo. One of my cousins used to get the shot and I know her periods were practically non-existent. I'm not sure how that would affect things once you start T, but it definitely might be something worth looking into. Your periods sound seriously hellacious as is and you seriously have my sympathies. D:

Two years ago I had some extra-heavy periods (including one that went on for six weeks, early perimenopause ftl) and my gyno put me on Prometrium, a progesterone tablet that worked very well for me. Maybe you'd have good luck with that?
