i will probably have to. i am not out to my doctor so i'm not sure how he'll take the whole 'make sure it doesn't have estrogen' part.

DA, but is there anywhere online you can look for trans friendly doctors? I'm not sure where you live in Canada, but I know that some places will have lists of docs that are more in the know and sometimes you can just find recommendations that other people have left online. It might make it easier, if you don't feel comfortable talking about it with your current doctor.

i've checked before and i can't find any locally. i don't know that my normal gp isn't trans-friendly but i'm not exactly eager to find out by telling him and seeing how he reacts.

Maybe not an useful suggestion because doctors aren't always that easy to contact but, could you call anonymously and ask about it? As if you were a new patient looking for a dr.

probably not unfortunately. i've been going to this clinic so long most of the secretaries know my voice. i go about twice a year for blood tests and prescription refills for a different type of medication.

Plenty of female-bodied people react badly to estrogen; just tell him you're wary about adding more hormones to your system when said system is obviously quite out of whack. Hopefully he's at least knowledgeable enough to understand that hormone imbalances can be absolutely horrible.

fortunately i am with him largely because he's helping me with my thyroid, so i know he knows endocrinology. :) that's a bit of a worry off, at least, thanks.
