I'm going to have to agree with you here (even though I haven't finished the book yet), I'm having trouble keeping tabs with the dwarves in the book because they don't seem very different from one another.

Very few of the dwarves in the book have personalities tbh. There isn't much to tell them apart besides the color of their hoods and their names. Thorin, Balin, and Fili and Kili are the main ones, and the others got shafted. I'm pleased with how the movie has handled them so far, and look forward to seeing more of them.

(Still hope you enjoy the book, though!)
