I literally grabbed my mom's arm when the elephant came on screen it made me the happiest ever.

And while the vocals of 'you must dismiss me, I have wronged you''no don't be silly' were SKETCHY, that was my first inkling of '...wait the book?!' and I kind of love that scene in general because it provides a context of Javert being an asshole but at least not a hypocrite whiiiiich the musical doesn't necessarily convey.

In conclusion: YES I AGREE.
