Also, aren't all K-Pop idols heavily rehearsed for their interviews? I'd think especially for the massive land-mine that is "relationship questions". So I'd have assumed the "innocent, cute, sweet" was the form-standard. Especially as it hits their target audience. (And I'm assuming a young tween audience here.)

Very much so. There have been a few idols who specifically stated that they were interested in dating a foreign girl and they got MASSIVE shit for it from their fan base.

Especially for bands like Boyfriend, B1A4, et al, whose target audience are 12-15 year olds, "innocent/cute" is the absolutely safest bet.

*nods* Yeah, that's what I thought. So I take any interview stuff with a whopping grain of salt. They're very much aware of all the ears listening and judging. We'll have to wait for the various dirt-dishing memoirs years down the road to get the actual truth. (Or find out who they actually end up dating/marrying. *g*)
