I almost never post here but I have nowhere else to rant to and just. UGH.

So I'm a part of a pretty tiny fandom. The people are wonderful and the fic is amazing, like, really ridiculously high quality stuff given how small the pool of authors is. However. There's this one girl who continually bitches about the content and the conversations on the tag, how it makes her feel alone and unwanted, and how people should just stop with their AUs because they're fucking stupid. She also dumps pretty hard on the fandom's main pairing (which is incidentally canon! that's new for me), which always kind of smacks of resentment for not including her favourite character. She deletes these posts a couple of hours later, and does the same thing on twitter, and it's just getting really tiring? Usually, it wouldn't really bother me, but given that our fandom is so small, it's impossible to avoid her.

The worst part is, when I ask her what her fucking deal is, she never actually takes responsibility, and is all sugar and lightness and smiley! faces! like she thinks hey! I haven't seen her snarking about how I don't produce enough art for her favorite character, and how we're all so very, very exclusive. I really wasn't expecting to find that two-facedness quite as teeth-grinding as I do, but here we are.

Bleh. I just had to get it out somewhere, otherwise I was going to bite her head off, and this fandom is so lovely that I really don't want to cause any sort of drama.

Has anyone else been in this position? How the fuck do you even deal with terrible people in such close quarters?

Personally, I sit back and ignore. If she's doing this to everybody, somebody else might eventually snap. There will probably be drama, but you don't have to be involved with it.

Is there any way to ignore her?

At least you can hope that her driving people away and being difficult to bear contributes to deserved feelings of loneliness and unwantedness.

is this on tumblr? I'm pretty sure you can use something like tumblr savior or http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/45673 to hide their posts

and when you find something that hides her, you can oh so casually post the link in your blog and hopefully the other fans will grab it too, without naming her or anything
