Hmm. That's an interesting perspective.

I mean I adore things like Harry Potter, My Little Pony, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon. But I fully understand that they are/were originally marketed towards children.

I just love them anyway. XD

And on the other side of the discussion...people who are all "EW NO THAT'S FOR KIDS" need to understand that lots of adults/older teens actually to partake in all of those franchises and in most cases the creators of the franchise are aware of this and will sometime add elements that will appeal to them without taking away from that which is available to kids. (Great example: competitive breeding and training mechanics in Pokemon that are way too complicated for your average ten-year-old. Oh, and subtle pop culture references in MLP. There's one ep that gives homage to I Love Lucy and it's probably one of my favorite scenes.)
