I'm the opposite. Fictional? Anything goes, the weirder the better. Ideas are infinitely flexible and durable. Real life: no. I'm phobic of hurting real people. All I can think of is how disturbing it must be to know that complete strangers are out there writing stories about your genitals.

I'm curious, OP -- do you say this to emphasize how much you do like to ship real people, or how much you don't like to ship fictional brothers? And does it apply to all fictional relatives, or just brothers?

I suppose you have a huge squick for incest even if it's fictional? That's not exactly uncommon, and in some cases it squicks me out too. Rarely between siblings though. I guess because most sibling relationships I ship are more or less 'equal' so there's no huge power imbalance? IDK...

Anyway, I won't say I haven't read my share of RPF, but I always feel guilty for doing so.

Yeah, apparently Dean and Aidan hit it off really well when they met, which made playing brothers work well for them.

Guy on the left is Aidan Turner, and the guy on the right is Dean O'Gorman (sometimes referred to as "Dean-o". Turner plays Kili (the dwarf at the bottom on the left), and O'Gorman plays Fili (the dwarf at the bottom on the right).

Me, I'm surprised that the only people fandom seemed to care about were Bilbo, Thorin, Fili and Kili, and just brushed aside the other ten. I shudder to think what will happen once Smaug shows up... I'm really starting to dislike Benedict Cumberbatch, just on the basis of his fanbrats (yeah, yeah, stupid reason, I know).

Bofur is getting a bit of love too, and I've been seeing some fangirling of Dwalin too (especially paired with either Thorin or Ori).

I'd like to see more love for Bifur, because I find the implications of his problems (axe in his head causing language problems) interesting.
