No, you're not "leading people on" by asking them to talk about themselves and the things that they like. Seriously, who would think that? Is there a Tumblr somewhere called "Nice Guys of Fandoms" where they whine about things like "I'm just too willing to share my interests with others, and then they turn around and like a fandom that some jerk said, like, 3 sentences about! Why can't they see how awesome my fandoms are?"

I once had this friend, right? And I spent so many hours talking to him about how much I loved Gundam Wing, why the pairings I liked were so obviously better than the other ones, and my 30 chapter fanfiction epic about Heero and Relena, and you know what? Turns out, he wasn't even into Gundam Wing! Totally leading me on! And then, Sarah, that jerkass slutty bitch, wears a Doctor Who fez, and he asks about it, and she says "Oh, it's a TV show I like - I'll loan you some DVDs if you want," and next thing you know, *bam* he's all about building a model Tardis.

I guess fandom friends just appreciate rich bitches who can loan you DVDs and knit you scarves, and don't even bother to explain all the backstory to you before you watch the show. I'm just too nice - really!
