The shipping wars took over the entire fandom. There was loads of character bashing (Aang and Mai took the brunt of it, although Katara got hit a little with it). Mike and Bryan were bashed to hell and back for making Aang/Katara canon. Aang/Katara shippers were called pedophiles. Zuko/Katara shippers were called delusional. It wouldn't stay in the shipping comms either; avatar_fans was also a minefield.

AND I WAS THE IDIOT WHO CREATED AND MAINTAINED THE STUPID NEWSLETTER SO OF COURSE I SAW ALL OF IT.

Do you just not ship at all within that fandom, or did you ship Katara with someone else?

I shipped Tokka (but Sukka is just fine too). I never liked the idea of Katara or Aang being in a relationship.

hahahahaha I agree. |D I was one of the bitter shippers (not a Zuko/Katara shipper, but an everything else shipper who was so sick of Zuko/Katara).
