In which fandom of yours would it be most unrealistic to have condoms?

I'm pretty sure that Loki is the only one with the horse sex story. Thor can impregnate everything ever all the time. I'm pretty sure that he can get you pregnant with sextuplets just by standing in the same room.

Yeah, I see your point, condoms would be of no use. Thor looks at you steamily -- BAM sextuplets. Poor, poor Hawkeye.

Lol same answer for me. I figure asgardians have super advanced medicine/vaccines and also magic (in Loki's case at least) that would make condoms unnecessary anyway.

I don't know how unrealistic it is, but I don't like when they condoms in Star Trek fics. I figure they have vaccines for all the common STDs you'd find circulating around Federation species.

Remember the Voyager episode where Harry and the alien woman became "biochemically co-dependent"? God that was weird.

I mean, YKINMK, but I'd been in the TF fandom for over a year before I got up the courage to see what people actually managed to do for porn.

By the fifth fic my sides hurt from laughing. It was such a surreal mix of anthropomorphizing and technobabble.

I'm sure methods of birth control exist in some cultures (Elves wouldn't need it much), and the Dwarves are particularly inventive with sex toys (though, again, not as much need for birth control as humans) but I can't imagine why two characters of the same sex would bother.

Nothing specific, but any historical setting where condoms didn't exist or a fantasy setting where the technology and economic base to mamufacture condoms does not appear to exist. Also, anythingwhere the characters simply couldn't get ahold of them, say if they're trapped or marooned somewhere.

I would love to see more use of real historical contraceptive methods in historical fics. Needs moar lemons.
