I've never been a part of the fandom so I have no idea how unpopular this opinion is, but I will forever love Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. I actually enjoyed those more than the classic Sonic games. (Someone is probably imagining slitting my throat right now, but again, IDC.)

Still, you like Shadow, what's the big deal? *shrugs* The series problems were not entirely tied to him, so if people want to say that they can, but that's ridiculous imo.

SA2B is pretty much my favorite game.

I never played that version! I see it's on gamecube... I might have to try and find it.

But the Adventure games are def on my favorite games list and I have so many happy memories of them. It's been a long, long time since I've played a game that was that simple and fun. (Most games I play now are more angst filled and challenging. I love them, but sometimes I miss the olden days.)

S3&K is my favorite Sonic game (game and its expansion pack?) in the series, but Adventure 2 is really fun to play. Especially the space levels. Even the ones people tend to hate (like the Emerald hunting segments) were just pure gold once they got into space.

And the problems weren't tied to him. Actually I'd blame the increasingly bad controls and level design for that as the games went on and Sega got lazier, but a lot of people still pinpoint that on Shadow the "emohog" and the overabundance of new characters that later games tended to bring in.
I like the introduction of new characters and new play styles though, even if it makes the stories more convoluted.

Shadow only got bad once they gave him his own game with their terrible controls and awful, awful plot. (Alien baby? Really?) He was fine in SA2, and also in Sonic Heroes, since they didn't mess him up then. Heroes wasn't such a great game either, but I did like the hint that Shadow may just be a fake instead. (And I still wish they went that route).

Also Sonic Adventure 2 was really great. Shadow was great, his levels were great, his music omg. And I liked the emerald hunting levels too and people are dumb for not liking them. (Okay, I guess different opinions and whatever, but it's still great). Even Sonic 06 didn't make his character toooo bad, unlike everything else with that game.

I was a Shadow fangirl back in the day, and I guess I still am. :U And Sonic fandom is such a wonderful and terrible fandom all at once.
