First off it's been around for over a decade now, so a lot of the community has been able to build up a lot of pornographic material just through the age of the series itself. Pokemon is also popular amongst the hormonal teenage and young adult set which further drives up the desire and consumption of pornographic material.
The series originated in Japan, which due to the distribution and ease of production of things like doujinshis makes the prevalence of illustrated porn higher than their western counterparts in most cases. The shipping wars springing from the cartoon series also doesn't help, as artists or authors draw and write porn between their preferred couples. And finally, the presence of intelligent animal creatures as exotic (so many tentacles) as the pokemon tends to draw in the furry crowd as they draw and write their preferred pokemon X human and pokemon X pokemon scenes.
Unfortunately for the more squemish fans, all these factors, and a bunch I probably missed, make the pokemon fandom very much a breeding ground for pornographic material. On the bright side, even the worst fandoms have plenty of safe spots and clean areas where porn is either not tolerated, or just really easy to avoid.

try to look for lj and dw communities, since you can check in their rules if they ban porn
try to look in sites like serebii.net or other general family-friendliesque sites, as they often link to other sites and so on
pokecommunity.com is fairly okay too, I think?
you are unfortunately going to have to learn how to look in the right places for fan material without stumbling into porn, but, I assure you it can be done
give it enough time, and you start developing a sixth sense of porn-avoiding. I know I did :P

(Anonymous) 2013-01-21 12:49 am (UTC)(link)There's also Bulbagarden, I read the rules really quick and it sounds like porn is not allowed there either (with exception of fic?). I don't know much about the forum itself though other than it exists. They've also got an oekaki.
