You're not alone. I love watching my friends fangirl over fandoms that I have no interest in and talk to me about them and tell me why the fandom is so awesome. I may not ever have any interest in watching the show/movie/whatever, but I love hearing people tell me why a fictional work is amazing and why they love it so much. It makes me happy, because even if I know nothing about the fandom they're talking about, I can relate to feeling that way about fandoms I AM involved in, and listening to them is almost as fun and pleasurable as squeeing over something I'm familiar with.
