Weird craigslist/internet responses

[personal profile] othellia 2013-01-20 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
So I'm been selling all my stuff on craigslist this past week and so far have gotten a couple dating propositions as well as one strange person who criticized the wording of my post, saying 'What does being a "recent collage graduate" have to do with giving something away??' when, you know, I mentioned it was a moving sale, and some people like to know if it's one dorm room or a whole mansion.

Bah. Trolls.

Anyone else get weird responses to craigslist/ebay/etc postings?

I find it impossible to post on CL asking for someone to play XBL or PSN or Steam games together without getting replies all about knives and watersports. I'm scared to actually look for a date.

WHY???? D:

Is there some kind of Craigslist code where Steam/XBL/PSN games = knifeplay/watersports?

That would actually make a lot of sense... CL is a weird fucking place sometimes.

Abuse for rehoming a pet I could no longer care for properly (unexpected medical condition, took 2 years to beat) :(

Thing was, the abuse was not for rehoming but because I had found a home already for her with a mother and her autistic child (my pet was a very patient, gentle and deaf dog of 1.5 years, trained. I kept my other dog on, an untrained rspca mutt with social problems)

and I guess this person really wanted her and they had messaged me but never replied back to my reply so I figured they weren't interested and moved on because I wanted to get it over with asap 'cause rehoming her hurt :[

been 7 years and from my tl;dr the memory still hits a nerve :/

Man, that's messed up. Sorry to hear that happened to you, especially when you already had the medical condition and the pain of having to separate from your pet to deal with.

Ugh, that sucks. Although when stuff like that happens, I'm glad I didn't end up dealing with them since I rather my things go to kind, understanding homes. And would especially feel that way with regards to a pet. Just because you put it online, doesn't mean it's automatically their's.

Sorry you had to go through that. Whoever they were, they were a jerk.

Will a weird post work? If so, BEHOLD! http://i.imgur.com/mxS4mfH.png

My sister found this on Men Seeking Women. She messaged him like, "Sir, I know who that is and that is not you."

lol

Is that Jensen Ackles? Because if so, she should've totally responded with a Misha Collins picture.

Hooray!

(The sad thing is that I DON'T EVEN WATCH SUPERNATURAL.)

Nah, I'm impressed. For someone not in Dark Angel or Supernatural fandom (maybe Smallville? Maybe?) to recognize him out in the real world, where he is not wearing flannel, brooding, or crying single perfect tears? Good work.

I just got a book called "Strange Red Cow" which is filled with weird excerpts from 200+ years of classified ads, some of them from Craigslist etc. Kind of wish you could see the response to some of them.
