Yeah, I really hate the fallback that some users go to when discussing things with anons. It's about 50/50 if I'll sign in or not, and while I don't reply too differently while anon, any time I have a varying opinion I'm suddenly accused of being a coward and an ass and dismissed.

And I don't really agree that it's only okay to be an ass if you're signed in. Having a username doesn't magically make your assholery okay.

I know. But if you have a username people can actually judge you for it.

The thing with me is, I have a name. That allows people to not expand my comments if they want to avoid me. If we figure out an ignore system they can go even further than that.

I do my fs browsing on flat view and it is not possible to "not expand" comments in flat view.

Is that what I'm using? I was going to comment that I only have the option to expand a whole thread. I tend to want to read everything anyway.

Yes it is all about me I am personally invested in whether or not people use flat comment view.
