I'd care more if Tiger hadn't left his daughter with his mom and brother, who are an excellent family network. Tiger wouldn't be a good single dad, and his reasons for not being there a lot (i.e., SUPERHERO) are good ones.

(I say this as the child of an absent father; trust me, Tiger ain't bad.)

pretty much this. I think making the choice to let his extended family raise his daughter shows that he knew his life/choices would make him a terrible choice for direct parenting. ever tried to find day care on a moment's notice when the Hero PDA goes off and you have to run to a crime scene?

he still fails in a lot of things, but his fail is what makes him a well-rounded character and not just a trope.
