I broke my foot over the weekend and ended up shaving half of one leg and letting the other one stay hairy so I could go see the doctor without getting "the look". I feel like a traitor to my slob heritage.

DO doctors give 'the look', really? I mean, these are people who, on occasions, dig out shit from someone's intestines because they were constipated. Ok maybe not someone who only treats fractures, but surely they don't mind hairy legs?

If your doctor did, i'd judge them.

I saw someone at an emergency clinic a while ago for a sprained ankle, and he seemed mildly put off and hesitated before touching my unshaven leg.

Unless you work at the circus as the hairiest woman in the world, it's far more likely that he hesitated because he didn't want to touch too hard and cause you pain. They don't care: these are the people that have to handle puss, blood, feces and every other bodily waste on a daily basis.

They care. Doctors are people too, usually from wealthy background, and there is a stigma associated with women not shaving their legs (at least in America.) Get doctors and nurses away from the puss, blood, feces, and other stuff, and they're just regular people who happen to be more qualified on medical issues.

For some reason people think doctors are all nurturing because they're in medicine.

Years of having to pay interest with their load makes them bitter and also used to shaved skinny porn types
