Add to that that most of the interesting roles in fiction are given to white male actors, you've pretty much got you recipe for that fandom dynamic.

Yes white men do get most roles (as for being most interesting, a matter of opinion), but even prominent women that do exist are largely outclassed in fandom by white men in the same fandoms? Most of the time. Avengers is a perfect example of this. Natasha is the third most prominent character in the film, but you'd have no idea of this by looking at fandom.

I don't know if Natasha's necessarily the best example here. She's still very prominent in fandom (fic especially, since she tends to play the BFF role to Clint who... well, yeah. >.> I love Clint but I don't know how he became the golden boy...)
I would question fandom's constant vilification of Nick Fury (especially in cases where Loki's omg so a part of the family!). You've got hints at a pretty epic long term "bromance" for him, but there's little to no fic to speak of, or if there is, he's the bad guy in big OOC ways. If they deign to include him at all.
Basically though, yeah. White men. Everywhere.

But OH YES do I agree with you on Nick Fury. I almost mentioned him. The flanderization aside, it's so rare to even see him included in something as simple as a tumblr photoset. They'll include Coulson and Loki, but who is Nick?

lol I have a strong unfollow policy for anyone that doesn't include Natasha or Nick in their SHIELD/Avengers gif/photosets but does include Loki. Its a pet peeve and it happens FAR too often. I saw one a while back that included Selvig but neither Natasha or Fury (or Coulson for that matter). I just... fandom, I don't get you. >.
