I did actually try to work for a Republican, continuing my job working for the Democrat who lost his seat to the Republican. This is just what happened in my state and my office, but the services that we'd previously offered (help with passports/visas, SSI/SSDI, unemployment, LIHEAP) became extremely limited in comparison to when the place had been run by the Dem. We also took way less stock in constituent calls and letters.

In retrospect my problem is probably working directly for the damned politician.

What state are you in? I'm under the impression New York isn't like this.

Anyway... yeah, I can see how that can be frustrating. I'm just worried, though. Individuals in the civil service can have a big impact. I worry when it starts getting partisan. It'd be nice to have someone who cares behind the desk, you know?
