I often wonder, if I died tomorrow and all my internet activity simultaneously ceased, would anyone notice?

And I honestly think that they wouldn't.

You'd be surprised. Are you very active online? Because chances are if you are someone is noticing you.

Example: I don't have very many followers on tumblr (like 57 or something) and I made an offchance comment about almost being in a really bad car accident one morning and some person I had never talked to before that was following me swooped in and asked if I was ok and told me to be more careful.

Also when I disappeared a lot from the comm last fall I had a lot of people check up on me, people I didn't even think cared about me or thought about me at all.

You'd be missed by at least one person somewhere, anon <3

You'd be surprised anon. I only have a few online friends and they're used to me not being online every day. But when I was in a bad place and didn't log on or update anything for 3 weeks? They tried to find out what was up and check in on me. one of them even messaged a family member on facebook who contacted me to make sure I was okay.

Not recommending you faux suicide or anything, but people will notice and miss you.

I wonder about this too. And honestly in most cases I think I wouldn't be noticed or missed. But I'm a huge lurker most of the time so yeah.

But I think that in every case there'd be at least a few people who notice. You'd be surprised.

Remember when you deleted your journal and took a little break? Which is perfectly fine, but a lot of us noticed the strikeout right away and were a bit worried.

People definitely notice and care.
