Well then you run off to "is he just a normal fictional character, or is he really an allegory Jesus, and by what standards are you judging him?"

...It is a bit silly how much I would *love* to read a good essay on this topic.

lol there has never been a more clear allegory Jesus ever, primarily because, SPOILER, he is actually Jesus. Have you ever read The Last Battle? The final chapter of that? Where, spoiler, they learn they've all been dead for a while and that he's Jesus?

ring any bells?

I think the above commenter meant more along the lines of focusing part A) "is he just a normal fictional character, or is he really an allegory Jesus" in relation to part b "and by what standards are you judging him?" by their statement? (How I read it anyway.) As in, are we judging Aslan in context by Narnia standards, or are we judging him as the Judeo-Christian (as opposed to the one Mohammed/the Koran relate to as a teach by my understanding?) Jesus by modern society's standards?

I think it's truly impossible to approach The Chronicles of Narnia or discuss it on any level, even a children's lit one, without the realization that Aslan is literally Jesus. Especially, like I said, the last book, when that reveal happens. It would be like reading Paradise Lost without knowing who Satan was supposed to be or why he was so mad at God, and instead trying to treat it as a standalone work.

in the Last Battle, everybody in Heaven does nothing but run and eat fruit. I hope Heaven's not really like that, it sounds like a very low budget weight loss spa.

Well, at least everyone got to reconnect with everyone who had gone before...?
