Other than general human decency of wanting to keep people alive, I really don't know why Derek wants any of them in his pack anymore. I think my favorite fic that I've read so far was summed as "Derek took a hard look at his life, said "Fuck this" and went back to NYC." Because he does not need this shit.

I don't understand why anyone would want to be in Derek's pack. He treats them all like his little soldiers and doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing. He doesn't give anyone answers to important questions they have. He left Jackson and Lydia, who were both bitten, to figure it out on their own. If he had been watching them in the first place several people wouldn't have died in season 2. Good going dickhead.
