I am staggered by the stunning intellect that must have produced this breathless insight!

I think what you and OP have failed to recognize (likely because you're both too busy patting yourselves on the back for being Superior to the Other Womens) is that sometimes, people don't give a shit if they're being pandered to. Also, we're talking about a member of a made-up species in fantasy, which is a fully escapist genre. It's not as if they made Abraham stunningly handsome for "Lincoln," an alteration that would actually be worthy of offense.

I wasn't aware Lincoln was generally thought of as highly unattractive.

Lincoln himself thought he was ugly (he suffered from damn near crippling self esteem issues). One time a guy called him two-faced, and he replied "Sir, if I had two faces, do you think I would wear this one?"

I'm not saying he was, but historically it's been a thing to discuss.
