I think I'm sadly in the minority in the TW fandom, but I see fandom characters as very, very different from canon characters. I've done that with almost every fandom I've been in, because it makes fic and participating in fandom easier.

I think a lot of the pack fics with all of them together ARE usually written in the future after some off-screen character development, or at least the well-written ones are.

Sterek is more interesting to me because Stiles is more interesting - I agree that Scerek potential is off the walls, but I just don't actively like Scott as much as Stiles.

I'll admit it, I like a lot of the well-written fic, even if it sometimes requires very minor OOC-ness.

Agreed. As I said above, I really like reading fic, but in my head it's all pretty much somehow AU fic with different characters. Doesn't make it less interesting or enjoyable to me, since I've never relied on fic to get my canon fix-- it's just a good source of interesting short stories (and fun id fic) with character and plot templates I really enjoy. /clearly in the minority
