5: Eww, way to make yourself look like a creep. Plz to keep your misogyny and rape fantasies to yourself kthxbai.

8: IMO, no, fundamentalist/dominionist Christianity and fandom (or artistic creativity in general) cannot co-exist, since extreme fundamentalism/dominionism demands imagination be "held captive to Christ" and frowns on such things as fantasy and creativity and openmindedness, all necessary things to be a writer of anything good (oh sure, you can churn out crap like Janette Oke and the Left Behind writers do and self-help books, but forget fantasy, horror, drama focused on anything but repentance, and realistic characters)

That said, and this is very important, moderate and liberal Christianity and Christianity-including syncretic faiths have no problem coexisting with fandom, since moderate and liberal Christianity DON'T frown on imagination, on "putting yourself in someone else's shoes" mentally even if it's a "bad person" or "bad things," on realistically writing non-Christian characters or less "perfect" Christians.

Yeah, if you're a strict fundie with beliefs against imaginations that contradict strict Christian fundamentalism, it's probably a good idea to either abandon fandom or find a "more acceptable" fandom (written by a writer as strict as you), but most of us can be both. ^_^

11: I empathize. My main fandom is mostly dead (e.g. trying to find good, new Trigun fic anymore is hard, and for a Vash/Livio fan such as myself, SAD when I find absolutely none). The manga is better, yet people STILL mostly write for the anime.

15: Take your shipwar somewhere else. >_Cloud is heterosexual? I think someone named Mukki and Cloud's responses to him just might contradict that. At the very least I'm pretty sure it's canon he's bi.

29: Personally, I'm a McMurphy/The Chief shipper. *shrugs*

I did it once. In overdone, purposefully badly-written parody. I think it's actually still up on ff.net under the username Flaming Dragon BBQ.

male character of Left Behind A x male character of Left Behind B ftw? dfngakdfkffh lololol

I would go for that if the characters had been interesting at all. God, those books so much that even the fanon slash would suck.

You posted in a secret that you wanted to see a young female character gang-raped. . . so let me guess, you're just a /b/tard wanting to look tough and cool?

Oh dear me, I've been so rude! I don't believe you've met yet, so let me introduce you to my literary friend. Pretentioustfu meet hyperbole, hyperbole, Pretentioustfu.

Re 8: thank you for making the distinction between dominionism and moderate Christianity ♥

♥ back to you. While not all of the posts on there are perfection all the time (we occasionally have someone Christian dramatically leaving saying we're all Christian bashers and someone non-Christian leaving saying we're not tough enough) I highly recommend dark_christian. When the posts are good, they're really good and thought-provoking (and sometimes stomach-turning and angry-making at just how much dominionists have gotten into stuff) ^_^

To be honest, I don't think it's required for someone to wholly abandon fandom because of their faith. Who says that you must embrace the entire fandom? "Fandom" is huge and consists of everything from rabid shippers to "I like this couple" to MPREG to fanartists to simple viewers/readers, etc.

It's also perfectly valid to remain in fandom as it is to leave. Just depends on what "sectors" of fandom you'll stand in.
