I don't understand the people who bash the females in this series. They're all interesting, developed, and dynamic, and Orihime is so sweet. :\ (I'd say "Orihime's my favorite," but then I'd have to say, okay, Orihime and Hinamori, and then I'd have to say, well, Orihime and Hinamori and Rukia... And then I would fail.)

Orihime: is made of sugar highs and adorable, and how can you not want to cuddle her after she got all freaked out over whether or not Ichigo would think she was heavy? After her utterly sweet speech about Ichigo? And she went into the Soul Society in sweatpants and a t-shirt. She's like a teenage girl, it's mind-boggling.

Rukia: is so. endearingly. awkward. Her total inability to socialize except by snarking/shouting at people and complete failure at expressing herself is why I like her. She's also self-confident, independent, and stubborn. But-- oh, hey, she's flat, so she must be a bitch, and I guess if you have a C-cup you're a whore?

Hinamori: oh no, a genius super-villain who fooled everyone in the Soul Society for centuries fooled her into caring about him! What a stupid slut. Never mind that she's motivated, powerful, and will eat your face if you hurt the people she loves. Even if you are the people she loves.

I like my characters to be interesting. Horrors, this means they're not all the same cardboard cut-out of the "perfect unobjectionable female character".

Slightly tangented but I absolutely adore Rukia and Orihime's friendship. It's so -- unbearably sweet. Even though Orihime is all angsty that Rukia is stealing her love interest, they're just such wonderful friends, because Orihime is made of fluff and Rukia has no one else like that. WOOB.

I bet a lot of the people who hate Hinamori do so because she's so deeply involved with Hitsugaya, Kira, and to an extent Aizen, that they resent having her intrusion on pairings they like with those people.
