I do this with the end of Code Geass. When the music starts up and Nunally starts screaming I get some much needed teary catharsis.

I've never understood the concept of having "a good cry" and feeling better after. It feels better to cry than to hold it in, but that's just the short-term. After I finish crying I just have a headache bordering on migraine-level, and all the relief is gone.

Like right now, which is what has me thinking about this through the pounding in my brain.

Am I somehow doing crying wrong or something?

Might be more of an emotional than a physical thing? When I have a "good cry" it usually means I feel I've gotten rid of emotional tension that was bringing me down, and my heart feels lighter. The physical effects aren't really important? (granted, I don't get anything so bad as a migraine)
