Uhh, the only reason I'm going to see this movie tomorrow is because of this relationship. (Well, that and Christoph Waltz being awesome.) So I hope somebody writes some fic...

I totally got an incestuous vibe from Candie and his sister, too. There's probably fic out there somewhere.

Oh there definitely was a vibe.
It's sad but they had almost more chemistry than Django and Broomhilda.

I thought that was exactly what the movie was implying, because Candie sure went on and on about how beautiful she was.

Then again, maybe I've been in fandom too long.

It seemed pretty clear to me that there was something going on between those two, yeah.

Wait. They were brother and sister?

Whoops.

I kept waiting for a big reveal myself. I think it was pretty heavily implied they were sleeping together. :)

Somewhat unrelated question: Did anyone else only notice how brown his teeth were only after he started to be truly villainous?

And here I was appreciating the media finally portraying a brother and sister as affectionate but not incestual. :/ My big bro and I are super affectionate, (so are my sister and I) and I wish it was seen as more the norm.

Gotta say, my sister and I were also under the impression that the incest was heavily implied.

No.

But I think that they absolutely were in an incestuous relationship. It never needs to be stated outright, but it's supposed to be implied as another facet of how depraved a family the Candie's are.

It took me a reread of this secret to figure out that it wasn't about shipping the guy with the skull.

Of the people I saw it with, it seemed like most of them got the incest vibe. I didn't - I thought she was desperate due to being old and unmarried and Candie was trying to flatter her so she'd think she still had a chance. But apparently I'm in a minority here.

I'm pretty sure we were supposed to think that he was sleeping with his sister. I've heard this comment from a lot of people, even people who aren't into fandom and shipping. Like, my MOTHER, who doesn't ship anything, said that she expected some big incest reveal.

For the oddest reason, I can really only ship incest if it's sister/brother.

I mean, I think my favourite WoW ship may be Nefarian/Onyxia, but I never see that. Sad face.

I ended up shipping way too many ships with this movie, and Lara/Calvin were definitely one of them. I have feels on top of feels.
