but we're also to the point of considering every little thing to BE abuse now. Being human = being emotionally abusive these days. You have to memorize your little set of appropriate phrases and reactions for every situation and when you deviate, you're damaging the kid for life! Ugh. Relax. Humiliating a child isn't okay, but there's a difference between teasing them and humiliating them. (I'm not really directing this at you, anon, just in general)

You miss the point. The point is a lot of parents think 'teasing' is making their kids cry and feels horrible because they think it's funny. Instead of 'teasing' why don't you have friendly jokes with your kids. We let people get away with a lot of shit because it's 'just teasing'.
