I mean he was my boss in an old department so we have a good history, and knows I'm gunning for a much better job, but this is not the most auspicious start to my new role I feel.

I had something slightly similar this week; I just started this job two weeks ago, and my new boss is apparently really slow at coming up with the schedule for next week. I've been bugging her about it for the last two days because I am trying to set up a schedule for a new job that I start next week. Which I haven't told her about yet. It'll all be fine once I've got it settled and I can have certain days/times blocked off for each job but right now I have no idea what the fuck I am doing yet so it is super-awkward.
