Re: "Pet parents"? Seriously?
But, every person I've met who has called a pet their child has been...not a particularly good pet owner. Like, they think their dog or cat thinks like a person and treats them as such, and as a result their pet is nervous or has behavioral problems.
So yeah, I side-eye 'pet parents' a little.

Everyone I know who labels themselves as pet parents tend to have really fucked up pets - and act really weird about me being so strict on how I treat my animals (like, y'know, training them and telling them off for bad behaviour and rewarding good behaviour and treating them like, well, pets. One friend gets really snark when I won't put up with her cat misbehaving and says I'm trying to be all dominant when Noooo I'm not letting him bite me hard or scratch me hard and it works because he does to you and not to me 'cause he can get it away with you)
So when people call me a pet mum for having pets I just want to go "hahaha NO she's not a mini human, she's an animal and doesn't understand a lot of things ok she's my lovely amazing pet)
