Although I enjoy the books, I do have my issues with them, and the romantic relationships is definitely one of them... particularly Rand and his women, which none of the characters seem to be bothered about!

That's actually the last thing I do remember reading regarding Rand--him confessing his love to each three in turn. It made me squeamish at the time, but I was in high school and all.

These days, OT3s and polyamory doesn't really bother me that much (I mean, none for me, thanks, but there are characters where it makes sense and seems natural). But I don't really remember Rand's relationships having the same vibe that the OT3s I like do; instead it seemed a lot more...er, Mormon, I guess? Where he just gets multiple ladies and they're all sister wives or something? But maybe that vibe changed later.

I did get REALLY tired of reading: "Rand wished Matt were here; Matt understood women." "Matt wished Perrin were here; Perrin understood women." "Perrin wished Rand were here; Rand understood women." The first couple of times, it was cute, but after awhile, it...yeah, it just contributed to that whole "women are super unknowable for menfolks" vibe that's a little too old-fashioned for me.
