This is such an old argument now. Get over yourself. I enjoy picturing Hiddles as Crowley (especially the face he'd make when launching the burning Bentley over the freeway), but I don't expect everyone else to agree with me. I'll like what I like and you'll like what you like.

And you know what else? I think the Good Omens fandom takes fancasting way too seriously. This stuff should be fun, but all the insecure nutjobs have to ruin it and make it some disturbingly serious thing. Learn to enjoy things! Good fricking Lord.

I know right. What is it with young people today. They can't accept that folks have different tastes, or like different actors, or just have a different way of being a fan.

When did 'different' become 'bad'. o_O

I must be getting old.

I think it happened when Tumblr became a thing.

I must be getting old.

Me, too. At the ripe old age of 23, I'm well into fandom middle-age.

I was in fandom back when it was mostly on mailing lists and Yahoo!Groups and we had to walk up hill both ways - None of this kind of behavior is new. Tumblr just concentrated it into one "convenient" location.

DA I, for one, conveniently ignore it. Problem solved. ;)

Oh, I know that. The ff.net Supernatural forums taught me that. Tumblr has just exacerbated it.

Yeah I think it's the tagging system that complicates things since with yahoo!groups you at least knew what you were getting into based on group name/theme whereas with tags clicking on an actors name can take you to people who love the person, hate the person, are batshit crazy fans, etc.
