The weddings being different doesn't change the fact that thematically being a bride played a large part in both Donna and Amy's character arcs.

That's...kind of some serious bullshit. If that's how it's going to be, then Martha is a thematic copy of Rose, because she was in love with the Doctor.

The way you're using the word "thematically," it can be applied to any passing similarity between two particular characters. You're grasping at straws because you want to be angry about something. And sure, no one has to enjoy it; but no one has to give you a pass about it, either.
