... so I recently met someone IRL who wears Avengers and Doctor Who clothes to school *everyday* (actually everyday) and also talks frequently and excitedly about Sherlock, Homestuck, and Supernatural. And tumblr.
I don't want to make assumptions (because lulz, she's three years younger than I, it would be awkward as fuck to accidentally introduce her to the NSFW-ier side of fangirlery), but I'm wondering when I can safely posit that she's /in fandom/?

I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask (Maybe ask in general comments today?), but honestly if she knows about tumblr and talks about it frequently, I'd automatically assume she's in fandom. Do you know if she searches Avengers/Doctor Who/etc on tumblr? Because I suppose there's a chance she uses it to look at food or clothing (etc), but if she's checking out her favorite shows and media on tumblr then it's probably safe to say she's in fandom.

And if she isn't in fandom and uses tumblr for these things, I'm stumped.
