Heh. Your subject line immediately made me think of my favorite Avengers cliche. Steve doesn't know Iron Man and Tony Stark are the same person or vice versa or both! I will read the crappiest crap if it involves that bit of identity porn.

Not necessarily, depending on which version of canon you're writing about. Some people do still write non-movieverse fic, y'know.

True, but not many as far as I've seen. Plus, I don't really know anything but MCU, so forgive my ignorance.

Someone on here linked to this last time, I think, because I don't usually read Tony/Steve. You want people to not know who Iron Man is or the Avengers are? You got it! (Though Steve is smart and might have figured it out.) You want people to not know Steve is Captain America? You got that too! Anyway, it's 63k deliciously glorious words of mistaken identities one upon another.

Summary:
Six years ago, without the Avengers Initiative there to save the day, scientist Dr. Eric Selvig sacrificed himself to save the world, the almighty demi-god Thor was lost to a terrible storm, and vigilante Iron Man – spotted with a nuclear weapon trying to take advantage of the situation – was forever labelled an enemy of SHIELD.

This is a comic book office AU, where Steve is defrosted a year too late, Thor has forgotten who he is, and no one knows Tony is Iron Man.

Also includes: office pranks, inappropriate post-it notes, and superheroes who like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain

(I couldn't find it for the longest time, sorry! I finally got lucky by searching for Steve+Clint+prank or something. I need a better bookmark system that doesn't rely on dead computers!)
