One example for me is Dean not knowing who the Ramones are and Sam having to tell him.

.....what? When? Dean mentioned Johnny Ramone in S2.

No, you're right. It's in Hollywood Babylon, and I was misremembering that Dean didn't know who Johnny Ramone was.

There's something though that clearly I cannot remember LOL where one or the other of them misses some kind of pop culture reference that seems an obvious fit for them. Which since I can't remember it, does not matter. LOL

Maybe when Dean had to explain the movie Poltergeist to Sam? Or when neither Sam nor Bobby knew of "Star Trek 4, Save the Whales!"

I don't think those are it, but maybe I just imagined the whole thing. LOL

Also, not knowing George and Gracie is a travesty of the deepest kind.
