I'm in the US. I'd have to be a rich, white, straight, cis male to even begin to like it here enough to call myself patriotic.

I find that most people who defend this country tend to be really blind to its problems. At one point, I may have believed that things could get better, but then the Election Year of Political Jokes happened and I've lost all hope. I'm miserable here and I can't even disagree when others hurl insults at this country.

I think you're focusing on the negatives too much, just as many self proclaimed patriots focus only on positives. Every country has its good and bad, but I think you're making a mistake defining the country as politics or the government. Every country is more than that.

The U.S. has its fair share of problems, to be sure, but I think you may have a somewhat unrealistic idea of the conditions for non-straight, non-cis people in the rest of the world. (Sucks in U.S., sicks worse elsewhere.) For that matter, the U.S. is considerably better than large portions of the world for women.

Race, yeah, I think a lot of developed countries do better with assimilated minorities -- often not so much with immigrants. Economics -- the unequal distribution in the U.S. is disgusting.

Politics... discussion of politics usually makes me want to hide under my bed and cry, so I can't argue with you there.
