the supreme court has historically ruled in favour of individuals having the right to keep and bear arms. it's not just a militia thing unless the court interprets it as such, and it almost never does. that's not abuse of the amendment, that's proper exercise of it.

also guns are not illegal in canada and while their gun crime rate is lower than the usa's it's far from ideal. canada's economy is bad right now too.

i think this is the kind of stuff the other anon was talking about.
