No, not really. Though, you could make the aurgument that shipping reality show stars/contestants is akin to shipping characters.

That's the argument. It seems that if people use their lives as a TV show a la Kardashians (while yes, reality TV shows are very staged, so it's not really 'real life') that's enough to make RPS about them less creepy, since the characters in question have sort of made themselves into fictional characters, in a way.

Yeah, but even if their persona's are exaggerated, the baby is real. The relationship is obviously real by virtue of the baby. That's where I think you start going to far, talking about how committed they are and whatnot.

Possibly. I stick to reality TV shows about sewing, cooking, antique-restoring or some other thing where the creations are the focus, not the people, so I don't know enough about the character-driven shows to have a solid opinion on the matter.

... even when you RPS regular actors, you're mostly shipping the public persona, not their inner true self?

It's all characters. o.O
