S'all because the drama featured real-life bishounen that were members of cute J-pop boy bands. No wonder there was so much more hype behind it.

Anyways. The manga was hella good and I agree it was the superior of the two.

The Gokusen Drama was awful! I don't get why it's more popular. It was so embarrassingly bad. I didn't care for drama Yankumi at all. The only reason I tried watching it was to see why people wrote so much fic for that version versus the manga. I still don't get it. The manga is so good!

The manga was brilliantly funny, I agree. I just wish I could find a fandom for it...

I don't know the manga or the drama, but the one with the red hair looks intriguing to me.

This manga is actually one of my top five favorites. I didn't mind the drama, but I just really saw it as same story, same names, different characters... like I do with most written to visual adaptions.
