I think whoever loves you will love every part of you, including your scars. Also nothing bad about identifying with a character because you have something in common with them.

I can only second that. Besides, your scars aren't you. They are just a part of you. I don't like shallow people who are only attracted to looks and looks alone. There is much more to a human being. Be confident, because if you are not people will notice it and you won't get any attention. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Wut. I have huge, plainly visible scars and the only thing I think about them is HOLY SHIT THESE ARE SWEET SCARS.

But anyhow, don't wait for someone to love you as you are, looks are the first thing that people pay attention to, so if your scars are disfiguring, people might not want to look beyond that. Be proactive and get cosmetic surgery or at least some treatment to reduce scars, it will make you feel better about yourself.
