My dad is like this a bit about Germany, since he spent some time there when he was in the Army years ago. He likes to randomly speak German (to be fair, he does it with other languages occasionally too), and will always tell you all about how he could fool policemen into thinking he was German and how some people told him to stop trying to act like an American because apparently they didn't realize he was one...

He's also sort of an Anglophile, as he insists British spelling is correct, uses some British slang, and once started to tell me off for reading a "childish" book and then relented when he realized that it was a British book.

LOL... my dad is the same way. He was stationed five years in Germany when he was in the military and loved it. I would love to be able to go there someday. (Especially since it seems like all my favorite bands are from Germany and many of them only do concerts there. Should mention here that I listen mostly to Goth music. :)
