It's hinted at in the movie that he's gay because he sits around like, "SIGH." and everyone's like "DUDE IT'S OKAY IF YOU LIKE YOUR DUDE FRIEND." And then it turns out he's actually into Juliet, and it's the worst thing ever, apparently.
