I am a long time fan of Ted and David A. Prior, ever since back in the day when the local UPN affiliate would show their movies late at night, and I was actually able to finally meet Ted Prior when Deadly Prey played at the Alamo Ritz a year or so ago

Yeah. :( I missed that. That was a Video Hate Squad, wasn't it? That's how I met David Heavener. They showed his wonderful film "Outlaw Force."

It was the very first VHS ever IIRC. I didn't even know Ted Prior was going to be there, and I totally flipped my shit when it happened. They had a Q&A after the movie and most people had obviously only seen Deadly Prey and not like, David A. Prior's entire filmography like my husband and I had, so they asked a bunch of dumb questions related to the movie like DURRR WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE SHORTS and stuff. Then I was like, "yeah, I just wanted to know what it was like working with Robert Z'dar, on The Final Sanction?" and Zac Carlson was like WHOA WHAT WE HAVE ACTUAL FANS IN ATTENDANCE

It was neat cause I got to hang around and talk to Ted and Zac Carlson a while (also David Campbell, who was the villain in Deadly Prey and also starred in a lot of David A. Prior movies). I got autographs and stuff. I probably sound like the biggest hipster/nerd right now.

But anyway, I always wanted to go to another one of those Video Hate Squad things but pretty much none of the other ones they've had have seemed appealing, except Death Drug which I had to miss out on because of work or something (I already own that on VHS anyway -- I think it should be a Shit Stream movie if you guys haven't done that one already)

That sounds awesome. The first one I saw was... oh, what was it? It was amazing. NASTY HERO! That's what it was. Sooooooooooooo eighties and hysterically funny.

But, that's awesome. If you're a hipster then I guess I am too. I'm a big fan of David Heavener like that. I own his country album on vinyl, ffs. But, I'm always too nervous to ask questions.

Yeah, Nasty Hero was the second one, Zack Carlson (at least I'm pretty sure it was him, I think he does the programming for VHS and maybe one other dude too) was all like "you guys are gonna be there for it, right?" and then I wasn't and I felt bad. Also cause I have a huge crush on Zack Carlson, whose name I apparently can't spell

Dude I have always wanted to do one of these with you guys but I'm always busy doing something else, I really wanted to see BOSS N----R when you showed it because I love Fred Williamson and have been wanting to see that forever, but it's like, Saturday night is not a good time for me I guess. I'm rarely at home on the computer

I own (on DVD and VHS) like every David Heavener movie. He is amazing. Some of his movies are actually pretty good. My favorite is 'Twisted Justice.'

In the Los Angeles of the future, police are forbidden to carry weapons and must use stun guns (called "stingers") instead. A maverick detective ignores those restrictions in his pursuit of "The Bullseye Murderer," a psychotic rapist who takes a new drug called "Umbra" that gives him superhuman strength and intelligence.

OH MY GOD that sounds amazing

I'm down for any movie that has a fake drug in it. (I'm trying to keep track of all of the fake drugs in movies... "scat" from The Faculty, "edge" and "skin" from Class of 1999, "nuke" from Robocop 2 "black triangles" from Suburbia, etc.)
