Can I just say that England is a shithole to live in. Most of my family have gone and moved into Europe already and I kind of wish I could the way this country is going.

The media really does not represent just how bad this country is. Yeah, maybe a hundred or so years ago we had a rich culture, nowadays it's just "lol let's kiss America's ass because Europe doesn't like us any more :("

Most Anglophiles are people who clearly have never been to this country or had to spend any sort of elongated time here enough to understand just how bad it is.

Yep that's about right. All the fetishization makes it easy to ignore Britain's current social problems (xenophobia, economical struggle) and historial terribleness (colonization of India, Northern Ireland) because omg you guys, all the ~hot accents~!!! which are always actor's RP and never Manchester council estate.
