It definitely would be the sort of fucked-up that you expect from a Korean horror flick. But hey, going against expectations is one of the things that makes a horror movie good.

AToTS is actually only the second Korean horror movie I've ever seen - after Into the Mirror, which has probably the weakest ending I've ever seen - so, frankly, I had no idea what to expect.

I'm more surprised you weren't disappointed in the film itself as a whole. It was very poorly acted and directed, and a huge letdown to fans of the original folktale.

???? I'm confused. I thought it did very well in Korea, gaining positive reviews and is one of highest grossing (if not THE highest grossing) Korean horror films.

It's theoretically possible, but they actually come across as less close in the flashback (other than that one line) than in the present scenes. But, of course, they hardly interact, of course, as most of the flashback deals with Eun-joo.

What you talking bout?? Of course they were if you'd like, even if the other was just a shadow, think about their lives past that. They still acted the same, I bet. Why not have that? I still think there was more than that and I don't understand why you'd think that the end gave something away that would make it different. Hmm..
