Even if that were to be true, why does it matter? Do you keep in contact with people in fandom because of their gender, or their writing/art/contribution to fandom?

A lot of people on the internet are young and still searching for their identity. Even older people who fall in the trans spectrum might still have tell-tale signs - not because their identity isn't valid - but because they've been socialized as the opposite gender since birth.

So, you're really good at picking out subtly gender cues...congrats. But what exactly does it have to do with your fandom experience?
