Re: Movies/Shows You Rewatch With New Eyes

This is a tad OT because I haven't seen the film exactly "recently" (maybe a year and a half ago?), but when I was a kid watching Mary Poppins for the first time, I didn't really care about Mary Poppins as a character. I didn't dislike her or anything, but while liked and had feelings about all the other characters, she was just...there. The magical mysterious lady who makes the plot happen. Whatever.

Every single subsequent time I've watched the film, however, I've genuinely liked her more and more and seen more and more layers and made more and more little connections that make me utterly fascinated by and endeared to her.

(no, I haven't read the books. Should probably get on that at some point).
